  We believe it is important to bring people into relationship:

• with the God of Israel
• with His people Israel
  
• with His beloved Land He calls Israel

The northern border of Israel with Lebenon used to be easy to cross. Now it is heavily guarded.

     

What is the ALIYAH Project? Our ALIYAH Project is a community of people committed to obeying God in the last days with regard to His will and purposes for the House of Israel. These people, Jew, Gentile, Christian, seekers, all sense a call from God deep in their hearts to be used in assisting the whole house of Israel to come into order before God, and to take their place in the land of Israel.

          

Who is The ALIYAH Project for? It is for those heeding the call of God in their hearts and in Scripture to take their place in the land of Israel. Because this can be very costly and difficult to do, it is also for those people who feel called to assist in the work of ALIYAH and who view it as an important mission of historic scope and purpose.

Our VISION...

 

1. We desire to help in the work of Aliyah. We believe it is a timely and important mission that God is setting on the hearts of many people in order that His fuller purposes may come to pass for Israel and for the world.

2. We also see ALIYAH as a humanitarian issue in that we will help people who are persecuted and in need of a homeland attain that for themselves & their families.

3. In doing the work of ALIYAH we believe that we will bring blessing on people, our   congregations, families, city, and nation as we co-operate with God in His purposes for the Jewish people and the of Israel.

4. We are non-sectarian in this mission and we harbor no animosity or ill-will toward any group or persons.

5. Our purpose in the Aliyah Project is to express the love of God as we obey what we see are His intents.

The famous "wailing wall" by the Temple ruins is sacred grounds for Jewish people.

WHAT DOES THE WORD "ALIYAH" MEAN?

Aliyah is a Hebrew word. It means to ascend, as in going up a mountain, or climbing a hill or spiritual ladder. In Psalm 24:3-6 when David talks about “going up” Mount Zion, he literally climbs up the incline, and also goes to a higher place or closer proximity to God.

Why is returning to Israel called "ALIYAH"? The idea is that people are in a sense copying David. They are going up to Jerusalem and the mount where God will one day be. They are spiritually ascending to a giher place, so to speak, and closer proximity in their walk with God.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS about the ALIYAH Project

Does the ALIYAH Project have a religious affiliation?  The ALIYAH Project is organized as a tax-exempt charity. It ascribes to a Judeo-Christian worldview. Donations are tax-deductible in the U.S.

I have sensed a call to go to Israel myself. Is that unusual, especially if I am not Jewish? God seems to be birthing a love of the house of Israel in many people. and especially in those of faith. A number of books have been written that support the notion that many people may be actual physical descendants of the Israelites who were dispersed. Also, people of faith often come to have strong and uncanny attachments to Israel.

How will the Wilmington Aliyah Project relate to other works for Aliyah? We have met and consulted eith key agencies involved in ALIYAH internationally in order to build good working relationships. We also have financially assisted other organizations in Israel who care for people in need.

What do you do in Wilmington? We handle calls and inquiries, walk alongside people starting ALIYAH and maintain close ties with Israel. We also collaborate with other groups in assisting in ALIYAH.

Where is the Aliyah Project in Israel? We believe the Lord wants 3 bases for the ALIYAH Project in Israel: one in the city of Jerusalem, one in the inter-national gateway near Herzilya Pituach, and one in the Galilee region.

Bedrooms are smaller than in the U.S., and renters pay the property taxes!

• Transportation in Israel is modern and there is an extensive public transportation system of roads, highways, buses, and trains. Fewer people in Israel own cars than in the U.S due to the higher cost of ownership, taxes, and gasoline. For many North Americans it can seem like a major inconvenience to rely on public transportation..

• Military service is required for most Israelis.

• Jobs and schooling are largely in Hebrew, which requires learning a new language. Professional licenses from the states do not automatically transfer into Israel.

• Hebrew Language: Hebrew is the national language of Israel, and everyone takes pride in it. But it is very hard to learn for vitally everyone. The government subsidizes years of free language study for people making Aliyah. The classes are intensive, and it is assumed that most people need to study fulltime, at least initially when they enter the country, and so some monthly support is provided to help with expenses when people first enter the country and need to learn the language in order to function well there.

Hills of Israel after the spring rains. In Hebrew "Eretz Yisrael" literally           means "land Israel." It refers to that very  special Land so dear to the hearts of  the Jewish people. The Hebrew word "eretz" is used over 1500 times in the Bible -- more than most other words. Why? In the Bible, Land --how it is treated, allocated, populated-- is watched over by God. Plus The Land of Israel is referred to as a gift, a destination, something promised,   critical to the covenant, and handpicked  as a dwelling place for Him and His        people.  So the Land of Israel must be very    special to God. Jewish people have    understood that for thousands of years.  Christian people can appreciate God's    love for the Land "Eretz Yisrael" in the    words "...For God so loved the    WORLD..."  Here the Greek word    "cosmos" is  translated "world" and        refers to all things created by God         including The Land. ALIYAH PROJECT UPDATE:

 

We are grateful that God has been deepening our understanding of how important ALIYAH is in Scripture. For example, did you know that the centerpiece of God’s Word to Abraham when He said “Go”, was that He would give him and his people a land.

That is still the centerpiece of God’s promise and agenda for all that HE considers His people Israel: A land where He will gather all the children of Israel to come to know Him better and to reside with Him.

You may enjoy looking at our new Website: www.IsraelMyLove.com. It is a site where we post information to help people understand Israel and ALIYAH in the News, and to look at events regarding Israel and ALIYAH from “outside the box”.

A new book we highly recommend is: “The Palestinian Right? To Israel” by  Alex Grobman, an eminent historian, who established the first Holocaust museum in the U.S.A. Called “a phenomenal book” “refreshingly honest,” “exposes lies and distortions,” you can read the reviews at IsraelMyLove.com and order it there.

 

Ron and Carol are both studying Hebrew in a conversational class, and Ron is also studying online with Hebrew University in Tel Aviv. We are doing this for our work for Israel and perhaps will offer a beginner’s class in Hebrew for our ALIYAH project people stateside.

 

Meanwhile, we continue to help a number of families and individuals with their ALIYAH to Israel. Here is a picture of beautiful Hannah, whom The Aliyah Project was able to help unite with her Dad in Israel. Currently we are counseling others about their Aliyah. Our WilmingtonALIYAH.org website is being well received -- even the Israeli government has referred people to us to help! Right now a wonderful Jewish couple is visiting us and has some interest in making ALIYAH.

Carol recently finished teaching about Israel and Aliyah at conferences in SC, PA and NJ and shortly goes to NH and then to 2 Jewish congregations in NY to share. Ron just drove 3,860 miles doing conferences in NH, ME, NC and SC.

NEWS: ALIYAH HOSPITALITY

For people making ALIYAH, life will offer many new challenges and can strain the finances. As a new service to help people in need, we can extend hospitality for people making ALIYAH who need a place to stay temporarily in the USA. People can come while they prepare for their ALIYAH. Also people who have already made ALIYAH may need a place to stay while they are back in the USA for business or personal matters. We can assist with mail, etc.
